Topic: Immigration
A couple of weeks ago (Apr 11 2006) I was watching a program on CNN where Lou Dobbs was interviewing a Professor Jorge Pinto, who was extolling the value of the Illegal Mexican Immigrants towards the US Economy, and we needed them or the US Economy would collapse without them. I became so irritated that I wrote and sent an e-mail to CNN.
Lou,
What troubles me is if this Prof. Jorge Pinto is so interested in the welfare (Possibly a misleading use of that word) of the Mexican people, why is he striving to get them to come to the United States? Why isn’t he striving to get the standard of living in his homeland of Mexico on a par with the US, and make conditions better for all Mexicans and not just the ones that cross the border?
Then I got thinking about the whole Open Borders situation, and it is not just Jorge Pinto but virtually every person that is in favor of giving these Illegal Immigrants legality in the United States. They have very little interest in the Mexican People, but have an ulterior motive to lower the standard of living of the United States to the same level as that of Mexico.
As a matter of fact why is it that all these Organizers that are purporting that they are trying to support the Mexicans, getting the illegal immigrants and other people that support them to demonstrate in San Diego, Los Angeles, Chicago, New York and other cities throughout the United States? Are all these people really trying to help out the Mexicans, or are they actually the hypocrites that are just using that as a tactic to get American citizenship for as many Mexicans as possible. Or is it possible that these people that are organizing the demonstrations, actually employed and paid by the large corporations and Anti-Labor Groups to get the rate of pay accepted now as standard in the United States lowered to the same level as it is in Mexico, and are not really interested in the Mexicans at all?
The last suggestion carries more weight than any other, because if these organizers were actually doing this for the Mexican people in general, wouldn’t it make much more sense to hold the demonstrations in Mexico City, Tijuana, Ciudad Juarez, Monterrey, Guadalajara, and other locations in Mexico, to gain a better standard of living, better Education and working conditions for All the people that live in Mexico, instead of demonstrating in American Cities for just the wetbacks that have entered the United States illegally? Or perhaps the American Cities are just so much closer to the proverbial “Golden Goose”?
