Mexico is a Poor Country because of Mexicans
Topic: Mexico
I would like to point out that the areas now known as Mexico and Central America, were settled by the Spanish Conquistadors, at about the same time as the areas known an The United States and Canada were settled by the British, French, Italian and other nationalities.

So the people of many different nationalities that settled the USA and Canada cleared the land and plowed and planted farmland, started herds of cattle and sheep, and flocks of chickens and other poultry. They dug mines to find Coal, Copper and Iron ore. They built Grist Mills and factories powered by Waterwheels along many of the rivers. They built roads and Railroads where rivers were not available. They cleared forests and cut the trees into timber to build Homes, Schools, Churches, Stores, Factories, and in shoreline locations built Boats and Ships.

The Spanish Conquistadors stole Aztec Gold and forced the Aztecs into servitude. Now the areas known as USA and Canada are thriving countries with high standards of living, high levels of education, and are doing just great. But the Aztec Gold has all been spent and most of the Aztec population has died off or has assimilated into the population, so the descendants of the Conquistadors are now looking for more treasures to steal, so they are crossing the Rio Grande.

The Conquistadors had the same chances and the same time frame, and Mexico has the same natural resources as the USA and Canada, for the people to build a great country, but they chose not to, and now they want the USA to help them become a good country. Why should we?

A previous comment clamed we of the USA should start a 21st century Marshall Plan to help Mexico. For those of you that are too young to remember, The Marshall Plan was instituted after WWII when the USA loaned Money, Ships, Trucks, Tractors Tools, Material, and the expertise to countries that were virtually destroyed during the War, so they could rebuild themselves. These countries were supposed to repay the loans and return the equipment as soon as they could. But in most cases these debts were forgiven.

My question is what war has devastated Mexico to qualify them for a Marshall Plan to be set up to help them rebuild? What Natural or Man-made disaster has devastated the country, or what Plague or Pestilence or Flood, or Drought has devastated Mexico so they qualify for this country to help them rebuild? The answer is none.

My answer to what the real problem and the reason that Mexico is such a poor country, is, that it is primarily inhabited by Mexicans!
